Stating that her task is to hold all the greatest evil in her box to make both Earth and the Ghost Zone a safer place, Pandora orders the Box Ghost to apologize for the mess. Danny distracts the power-mad Box Ghost long enough for Pandora to sneak behind and retrieve her box, which she uses to absorb all the malevolence the Box Ghost unleashed. Eventually, he reaches Pandora's lair and together, the two return to Amity Park to stop the Box Ghost's reign of terror. Taking Skulker's advice, Danny sets off through the Ghost Zone, battling a legion of mythological creatures: Medusa, minotaurs, a centaur, and a Cyclops. In return, the ghostly hunter tells Danny to follow the trail of the mystical creatures to find Pandora. Sam gives him a book on mythology to use as guidance to Pandora's lair, and the two share a brief moment before she changes the subject.ĭanny enters the Ghost Zone and rescues Skulker from three unicorns. Danny struggles in the resulting battle as the Box Ghost unleashes more and more monsters from Pandora's Box, including bats, snakes, frogs, Pegasus, and a giant hydra.ĭanny eventually orders Tucker and Sam to help his family distract the hydra while he seeks help from Pandora. As Skulker flees, the Box Ghost celebrates his newfound power, drawing evil energy from within the box.ĭanny and his friends are enjoying a picnic in Amity Park when the Box Ghost attacks. In response, the Box Ghost opens the box and unleashes a cute, tiny unicorn at Skulker, which suddenly increases in size. To evade her, the Box Ghost hides in Skulker's island, where the hunter berates him for the risk of stealing something from Pandora. Bypassing Argus Panoptes, the Box Ghost successfully steals the box - much to the anger of Pandora, who demands it back. Unfortunately, all this accomplishes is pleasing the people.įrustrated, the Box Ghost heads to the lair of Pandora to steal the ultimate box: Pandora's Box. The Box Ghost is sick and tired of being taken less than seriously in both the human and ghost worlds, finally snapping when he sees that his bounty from the Ghost Zone Police Department is a mere $2.50.ĭesperate to increase his villainous standing, he attacks Danny with every box he owns in his warehouse home, ranging from lunch boxes (which only spew out sandwiches) and shoeboxes (which spew out shoes). Tired of being taken less than seriously by humans and ghosts alike, the Box Ghost steals Pandora's Box and creates an unholy torrent of evil in Amity Park, becoming a true threat for Danny, who must seek Pandora's help.

Every situation is unique and has its own expectations from its leaders. The leadership style plays a key role in deciding the extent of success of a leader. The approach is indicative of the style each leader has. Successful leaders are those who are able to read the situation and design their approach according to it. To follow a leader is to believe in their motives and subscribe to their vision. What makes a leader? Is a person born a leader or does circumstance decide their ability to lead a group? The subject of leadership still invites heated debates while trying to understand the depth of this skill. Mind maps and outlines are very similar: they organize a topic hierarchically. The themes and templates offered are attractive, and allow you to jump-start your mind map. My personal take: Mind maps can be created rapidly with XMind using just the keyboard-which is crucial when brainstorming-and plenty of formatting options are available. Here’s a mind map I created when planning this XMind review. …or to format the mind map in various ways.Įven the structure of the mind map can be modified so that you can control where topics appear relative to the main idea. Using icons in the top right, you can open a pane to add icons and stickers to a node… For example, you can show a relationship between two nodes by selecting them both (using command-click), then clicking the Relationship icon. There are icons along the top for doing the same with the mouse, as well as a few additional tasks. So creating mind maps with the keyboard is quite rapid with XMind. For example, if I select “Main Topic 2” by clicking on it with the mouse, pressing Enter creates “Main Topic 3”.įrom there, I just need to start typing, and the text is replaced. XMind: ZEN allows you to create new nodes without touching the mouse. Using the keyboard when beginning a new mind map allows you to get your ideas out of your head as quickly as possible, which is perfect for brainstorming. Your nodes can be structured in a hierarchy to show relationships. Each piece of information is called a node. Typically, a mind map is structured with a central idea in the center, with related thoughts and topics branching out from there. For example, here is one that maps out the Porsche voicemail system.Īnother demonstrates how you can get creative with healthy snacks.Īnd another-that looks more like a table than a mind map-compares iPhone models. …or from a library of templates, where a sample mind map has already been created for you. XMind gives you a choice of selecting a theme… When creating a mind map, you don’t have to start from scratch. Note: the screenshots below were taken from XMind: ZEN, which was replaced with a newer version later on. In each subsection, I’ll explore what the app offers and then share my personal take. XMind is all about mind mapping, and I’ll list the app’s features in the following five sections. I hadn’t tried the new version of XMind before, so I downloaded the trial version to get to know it. Over the years I’ve used most of the major apps, including MindManager, MindMeister, XMind, iThoughts, and MindNode. Using mind maps on the iPad is a more tactile experience, and works well, though adding thoughts can be slower. On the Mac, I like to get my ideas down quickly using the keyboard and use the mouse to move ideas around and create some structure. Now I use mind mapping software on both my Mac and iPad. I also found mind mapping on paper to be a quick way to get started on a new article or project. I started with the open-source app FreeMind, one of the only apps available at the time. Why Trust Me for This XMind ReviewĪround ten years ago, I discovered mind maps and realized how useful they are when planning and brainstorming. He popularized the concept in his book “Use Your Head”. Because it activates the right brain and makes it easy to show the relationships between ideas, it’s a useful practice for note-taking, brainstorming, problem-solving, outlining writing projects, and more.ĭiagrams have been used to visually organize information for centuries, and in the 1970s Tony Buzan coined the term “mind map”. No cloud sync between devices.Ī mind map is a diagram with the central idea in the middle, and related ideas radiating out like a tree. What I Don’t Like: Subscription-based model won’t suit everyone. What I Like: Mind maps are easy to create using the keyboard. You never know, XMind may offer the right balance of features and usability to sway you. I recommend you add it to your shortlist, then evaluate the trial versions of several apps to see which best meets your needs. There are more fully-featured apps (at a price) if you need them, and other alternatives offer similar features at a cheaper price but also include cloud sync. However, it is not substantially better than its competitors. XMind offers a smooth workflow, a responsive graphics engine, a distraction-free mode, and all the basic features you’ll need to create and format mind maps. By spreading ideas over the page rather than in a straight line, new relationships become apparent, aiding understanding. Mind maps are like outlines that engage the creative right brain. The story was realistic, humorous and heartfelt. The book has lessons on friendship, being honest, working hard, perseverance and even the parent-child relationship. Astrid has heart, spirit and determination. Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson - Being 12 isn't easy, especially when your faced with best friend troubles, impending junior high and joining a junior roller derby league when you can barely skate. Her adventures are filled with fantastical creatures, unique friends and lots of bravery. These books are fun and captivating as we join Zita on her intergalactic adventures. I was 100% correct! She can't wait for more of these to be released and reads them as soon as they arrive in the mail.īy Ben Hatke - Zita's best friend is abducted by aliens and she must save him. I was so excited to find them in graphic novel form by our fave author because I knew my daughter would be drawn in. We hope there is more to come!īy Raina Telgemeier - I loved the Babysitters Club books when I was in elementary school. I love that the sisters learn how important that they are to each other in Sisters and that Raina learns to embrace who she is, how she looks and what being a true friend means in Smile. Raina writes in a relatable and laugh out loud humorous manner. She has read both Smile and Sisters numerous times. My 9 year old stumbled upon Sisters at a school book fair and was instantly drawn to it because 1.) It was about two sisters (definitely relatable!) and 2.) It was a graphic novel which is currently her favorite genre. By Raina Telgemeier - We adore Raina's graphic novels.
